When the New Zealand Timber Industry Federation (NZTIF) sought to modernise their online presence, they faced the challenge of managing three outdated and underperforming websites. The main NZTIF site, along with NZTPC (New Zealand Timber Preservation Council) and Verified Timber, were either incredibly old and unstable or not performing as expected after a previous rebuild on Squarespace.

I took the lead on a comprehensive project that involved a full restructure, complete content rewrite, redesign, and rebuild of all three websites. This process required a strategic approach to determine the essential information for each site, eliminating duplication and clarifying target audiences and key messages. By reformulating the content to be clear, concise, and audience-driven, I ensured each website effectively served its specific purpose.

The outcome is a cohesive family of websites that support, complement, and feed into one another. Each site features a consistent look and feel, tailored to their specific brand colours and identities, providing a unified yet distinct online presence for NZTIF, NZTPC, and Verified Timber. The redesigned NZTIF website is now stable, user-friendly, and effectively communicates the federation’s mission and services, enhancing their credibility and engagement within the timber industry.
